Cable car day
Hello everyone!
A few weeks ago I went out to London and rode on the Emirates cable cars! It was a really cool photographic experience and really a little adventure overall.
I took a camera that I borrowed from school along with me during the trip and attempted to be Miss 'I wanna pretend to act like I know how to use a camera' girl and tried to take as many artsy and scenic pictures I could take. I took quite a few and I've tagged them on this post. Considering my lack of usual accuracy and artistic sense in my photography skills I think I did pretty good.
This became quite useful during the cable car ride. I was very a little hesitant at first to go because I have a little fear of heights. But I decided to out my Dora the Explorer persona on and told myself to get out of my comfort zone and do it. Really, you must be thinking "isn't thinking that a bit over reactive," well yes, yes it is. Nevertheless I still think there's always a risk when trying something spontaneous or involves height. But at the of that day it really made me realise: the only way you should go, is up. Don't over think too much all the time because it's stops creativity and fun; how can you live life with so many limits when really the point in living is to exceed the boundaries of fun and adventure you've been given. I'm the type to stay in my comfort zone and take baby steps outside of that. I'm not saying you should take a leap! But maybe tiptoe in and out of that zone every now and then, and you might now know - it could lead to big positive change not only through experiences but you as a person. I speak through personal revelations. It's really quite refreshing to feel proud of yourself for doing something you didn't expect to do; in a positive way obviously
So I know going on a cable car that isn't really that high or scary, and isn't worth a lot of interest. But the point here is, it's okay to get off the ground every other once in a while and do something spontaneous, and build meaningful memories.

First half term of sixth firm
Albeit, I really do like it that way. I like having freedom and trust, but also more discipline which I get in my sixth form now.
I don't usually dress in smart clothing so I like how I'm able to switch between different styles everyday and create different vibes from each outfit to sort of base my day from.
Time is definitely of the essence every morning. . But of course on those kinda of downer days, it's okay to look a little less put together but still somewhat presentable for sixth form.

School locker snacks! If you're on a budget
In the past I've tried to maximise my lunch spends up to £10 a week because I didn't want to be a hassle. Now that I am in sixth form, food is crucial to learning!.
So here are some snack ideas to keep in your locker just in case you get hungry during the school day:
(note: some of the items may involve microwaves since some sixth fork rooms do have access to microwave)
1. Popcorn (pre made at home or microwave packets)
2. Trail mix (In jar or zip lock)
3. A pack of rice cakes (sealed in a zip lock)
3. Sweet Potatoe chips (in packets)
4. Pretzels (in small packs or zip lock)
5. Cookies (in a sealed zip lock)
6. Sweetcorn (in a can)
7. Unsalted tortillas
8. A few bottles of water
9. Skittles
10. Box of granola bars
11. Coffee sachets (I know it's not a snack)
12. Cup a soup (don't eat too frequently)
13. Crackers (In sealed zip locks)
14. Mini packs of almonds
15. Sachets of dried fruit
I may add to this list after a while but that's all I got for today.
I tried to keep the items as healthy ad possible.
Further notes:
-don't leave your food there for a long time. No more than a week with opened or pre cooked items. Always check the expiration date.
-make sure you keep your locker neat and tidy. Throw all trash away.
- lockers are for books and not a dry cupboard so don't store a ton of food.
-be sanitary? Keep all of your food items in Secure zip locks. I would probably bring a medium plastic box to store all of the food, separated from food and gym wear etc.
-you could also leave in a small amount of utensils or a plastic spork needed. It might even be handy to keep napkins and sanitiser as well too.
-throw all the uneaten food before you take a school break or long weakened so it does not rot in your locker and you avoid food poisoning. Just be hygienic basically!
-don't leave dairy products either.
That's all for today I hope you got some inspirations from this. :)
Happy savings!

Little paper dress
When I was little I would steal the memo pad papers from the study and make little dresses or folded type figures out of them. I made a paper dress today, and I haven't made one in a long time.
It was meant to be a tight fit paper dress with a sharp wide hip. Unfortunately I didn't measure it in right. Also I stuck the bodice on the wrong side so it was really out of proportion.
I don't have the paper dress anymore since I somehow lost it during lunch today. But I at least have these pictures as a little sentimental reminder. :)

First Day
So most of you will surely be returning to school or work very soon, if you haven't already. It's time to bring back: coffee mornings with a few short hours of sleep, running out the door because you ran out of time almost forgetting your keys! Trust me, those scenarios are far too typical in reality. Well unless you're an absolutly punctual person who in general get's everything done 10 minutes before it has to be ready.
Today was my first day back at school as a sixth former and it was has been the weirdest day for me... okay, maybe I am over exaggerating. It was a pretty smooth day, but I couldn't help but feel a little anxious or weirded out by the changes... I am in the same school, but not in my uniform; I've been with all of the poeple in the room I got registered in for 5 years, but I still feel like I'm in a room full of complete strangers -which realistically is true- And then the strike of reality where all of my close and really good friends have gone their own way somewhere else. It was really nostalgic walking through the corridoors and courtyards reminiscing all of the good old memories and everything I used to enjoy and have.
Coming in today really hit me hard - because I realised again and again, that NOTHING is permanent. Everyone you are with, and have now could be somewhere else in the near or forthcoming future. You don't exactly realise what you have until it's gone. So really really just make most of every important person you have in your life, do NOT take for granted any time you have with them. I insanely miss the people I was associated with last year. And even though I really wasn't close to a lot of them, except a small group, I really did enjoy their company and memories that were made. I miss being a kid at school, being able to joke and mess around during break. I know some of you may think I am being downright cheesy, but I guess everyone could go through this [similar kind] of stage in their lives, so in other scenarios it's almost completly relatable. Now, I am a junior/sixth former. One of the oldest in the schools, someone who has to keep her head down and work, stay out of trouble, has to be 'mature' all the time and behave. Honestly, that sounds idealisic. But not at all fun, and I like harmless fun.
Although, even if I grow up I'll always be a kid at heart!
I am anxious about the next two years. The same kind of feeling you get when you're about to sit on a really scary rollercoaster just waiting for it to start.
I shall update soon. Most probably about school again.. sorry if these blog posts have been very dry recently.
Smile always!

Something Different
I also find myself becoming more comfortable in expressing the type of music that I've always liked listening to. In the past I was the only one out of my group of peers that liked rock music or was into bands, so I never openly discussed that side of me, in fear that I would be judged. Until within the past year I've found many other people who like the music that I listen to too! and I'm so bummed that I won't be seeing most of them at all next year -because they will be going to a different school- so we won't be able to share musical oppinions and songs. However, I do have those people on my social media sites so I guess the' fangirling' can still be possible over the web. But now I feel like the music I listen to plays a large part of who I am because music surrounds my life. So if it's part of me I mfeel like I shouldn't be afraid to express my love for all the types of music that I listen to. Maybe if I wasn't so shy about my passion for music a few years back, I could have been able to stretch my abilities in music more, and have been able to create betters relations with other people within my school who were alike me.
The lesson learn here is, you don't have to always go with what other people like or what the most popular trend is, just because your afraid to stand out, or be judged, or be made fun out of because you prefer/like something different. If your peers do that to you, then it's not your fault - if they were your genuine freinds maybe they would find it strange at first, but will NOT discriminate you for it. Don't be scared to stand out, because those qualities give you spirt, individuality and a sense of freedom because you are confident about expressing yourself. If you do feel like you don't belong to a certian clique, eventually you will find people who are like you and the crowd you are comfortable with. Whether it's a big gorup of people or just one other person.
At the end of the day, in my oppinion everything we do gets judge by people who feel/think differently to us anyway. Be confident about it, as long as you're not hurting anyone else, be free to just be YOU.

Ch-ch-changes
Hey lovelies I'm back with a new post . Today's post is about a deep feeling/worry within me, and so today the topic as about "changes".
I am the type of person who gets anxious about all sorts of changes. Ie. Moving classes, changing schools, changing my hairstyle etc. So yes even the smallest change often gives me anxiety.
Whenever I go through a personal problem I always tell myself: how I need to change x,y,z about myself - but it never really works. No matter how hard I push myself to change, I can never really let go of who I am and I've come to realise that I can learn to do or be something else, but I can't change what's already there. The things that make me, me, and unique.
I've always found metamorphosis in nature fascinating but I've never been eagerly fond over it. However, visible and social metamorphosis around me is surely more prominent. I find it quite difficult to accept social change. Specially when friends or people close to you move away or even worse become distant; to where the loss of contact becomes the forfeit.
I get stomach tied knots when I think about all the social changes I've gone through for the past few years. And it's nothing but a rite of passage in high school, yet the experience is a both a learning experience and irritating at the same time.
Ever since I've gone on summer break and everyone else has gone their own direction I realised that everyone really has a path of their own , and it is rare for someone else's path to be right next to yours after passing through a never ending crossroad. By that I mean: it's one in a thousand where you get a friend(s) that will stay with you for a long period of time before they're path gets diverted somewhere else.
Some of the people I was friends with a couple months ago in school, I rarely talk to now days except - for the 4 close people whose friendship I cherish like rare gold - so I guess, yes, someone has a point about only being friends with certain people because you see them in a class or place every week. I am quite a sentimental person so I do miss good memories I had with my old colleagues.
So this brings me back to the feeling of anxiety over change because we all know that it is inevitable. But I guess it's what keeps the world going. If there are no changes everything is stuck in a constant cycle with no improvements like medicine during the Middle Ages.
We can choose to keep people we want in our lives, but if they walk away it's not because they are bad people - but because their part in your story is over. I can't remember where that quote is from, but it really made me realise that: everything happens for a reason and nothing is ever permanent.
Accept the changes that come, enjoy the good fortunes you have and don't take anything for granted.
-Jan
